World class musicians at Fonó within the CAFe Festival!
Fonó will participate in the CAFe International Contemporary Art Festival with two concerts presenting world class guests in their representative genres. On 3rd October Zoltán Lantos’ indo-jazz band Samsara of outstanding world musicians will be performing with the London based Indian violinist Jyotsna Srikanth, who is the renowned representative of Indian Carnatic music (Indian classical music) in Europe. On 18 October the Swedish Emilia Amper folk and word musician of considerable success will introduce the audience to the nyckelharpa, a popular musical instrument in Scandinavian folk music. ’Betyárvilág’, the shared project of Eastwing and Gergely Agócs folk musician will be performing the same evening. This project is an exciting experiment to bring jazz and folk music closer together. On this album of Eastwing, entitled ’Betyárvilág’ (Fonó Music Hall) the brilliant jazz musicians Gábor Kéri (guitar), and Frankie Lato (violin) work together with Gergely Agócs (bagpipe - folk musicians, and prominent reseracherer of folk music), and create the art of bringing closer the world of different musicial traditions by making their connections perceiveble to the audience.
