Estas Tonne in Hungary

Estas Tonne's international tour was originally scheduled for the autumn of 2020, however due to the pandemic situation it will be held in 2021 instead. The tour focuses on a wonderful phenomenon: human perception and creativity that pushes the boundaries of our inner spiritual landscape. Music is an intangible, elusive branch of art that can effectively influence our inner vision, and so the tour was named VISION. This ‘sound journey’ with an extraordinary artist is an opportunity to gain insight into the whole of Creation from a new, wider perspective.

Estas Tonne was born in Russia and started playing guitar at the age of eight. He moved with his family to Israel in the 1990s and then took a trip to New York, where he arrived just a week after the 9/11 terrorist attack. He met street musician Michael Shulman there, with whom he later performed at the 9/11 anniversary commemoration. They also released a joint album. As a street musician, Tonne has performed from Mexico to India and has become known as a Gypsy troubadour or modern troubadour. He uses his instrument as if it were a complete band. He plays a six-string acoustic guitar without a pick, combining the solo with rhythm and walking bass. He is a guest at many major festivals around the world. In 2014, he performed at the Everness Festival in Hungary.

“Telling a story through music without text is a special means of expression. The listener is free to form his/her own story. Of course, I experiment with songs, poems, and stories too. Among them, some things lose their importance and others come naturally” says the artist.
